Empowerment

The definition of Empowerment is to give authority or power.  The Merriam-Webster Dictionary

“The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.”  ~Theodore Roosevelt

To understand what Empowerment is, let’s find out what it isn’t.

1.  Having fear, worry or doubt, thinking you are less than.

2.  Not willing to change

3.  Low Self-Esteem, Low Self-Worth

4.  Putting other down

5.  Being Selfish

6.  Lack of Leadership

7.  Lack of Confident

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.  Romans 12:15

These are only some of the thing that will stop or slow growth of Empowerment.  The key is to Empower others.

When we empower others, we get so much more back.  God said it is better to give than receive.

To be able to Empower others,  you have to really like people.  If you don’t,  it will show through your body language, tone and you will be labeled fake.

That brings us to trust, respect these are more keys to Empowerment.  Great Leadership and Confident begin with being trustworthy and trusting others.  In order to give respect, you must respect yourself to respect others.

For example:  You are driving on 285 and someone cut you off?  What will you do?  If you let it go and not respond.  That’s showing respect for yourself and the other person.  We have to look at people as through they were.

Let’s Empower one another by giving, helping and sharing.  Please check out this website with articles about Empowering your Life.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Please come again.  We have so much more to talk about.

May 25, 2011 Choices?

We all have choices to make in life.   Whether good or bad it will affect your life.  Your life is so valuable and would be a shame to wait.  What do you  want to leave your children, friends and family?  What is your Legacy?  What choices in life will you make?

Approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense.  Philippians 1:10

We must make choices of love, encouragement, empowerment,  and integrity.

When you have children integrity is very important.  Children lead my example.  If  our children see  or hear us lying, cussing, using bad language and stealing.  That is what children will follow, not you telling them to not do as you  do, but what you say.

Please leave your children a Legacy to be proud.  I know it is your choice to choose excellent, good or bad situations for your life.  Remember God is watching and so are others in your life.

The choices you make in life will affect you.  Everything you do in life, is the  total of all the  choices you have made.  If you make bad choices you will get a negative response.  If you make good choices you will get a good response.  If you make excellent choices you will get an excellent response.    We all have choices to make, so choose wisely.

Missing You Daddy

My daddy passed away.  Today was my daddy’s birthday.  I know, all of us, had love ones that passed away.   I know, we think of them.  But what about when their birthday comes?  I decided to write my daddy a poem.

Missing You

Missing You Daddy for a little while

I can always wear a smile.

Missing You for a little while

knowing you had walked a mile

Missing You for a little while

knowing how much you endured

Missing You for a little while

knowing you are always around

Missing You for a little while

knowing as you turned around

Kissed me to keep me on the ground.

Missing You for a little while

knowing I can always wear a smile

Missing You for a little while

knowing we are always bound.

Missing you for a little while

knowing we will always see each other again

Let’s talk about Fear ~ Love Doesn’t Hurt

Let’s talk about the results of living in fear.  I grew up in fear as a result of things I witnessed as a child. That fear controlled my life in many ways. Terrible things happened to me because I was afraid to speak up.   I always needed to feel safe and secure.  I never wanted to be left alone.  Always trying to please others.   Needing approval of others, not trusting my own judgement.  You’re  shy and afraid to speak up. Not wanting to stand out in a crowd.   That same fear lead me into the arms of my abusive ex-husband.  I am writing a book “Love Doesn’t Hurt”.

Today, because of the Love of Jesus I no longer carry that spirit of fear.

Did it take time to overcome fear?  Yes, it had.  It took me many years to not be afraid.

This year, is the first year I am becoming more comfortable in my own skin.  I am not saying that you will not be uncomfortable at times or be afraid but when you do, pray and believe.  All you have to do is think of the Love of Jesus and know that everything will be all right.

If I share my story or experience to  help one person then that’s great.  Please give it to God, we don’t have to live in fear.  Your life is too valuable. Time is the one things that once it’s gone, it’s gone.  Our purpose is to live each day as through it is our last day.  Living in fear is such a waste of valuable time and energy.  Be free and let go of hurt, anger, doubt, bitterness and fear.  All these feelings have an affect on life is the same way.

Remember we are free.  So wear your smile and believe in yourself.

Building Relationships

Hi All,

It’s so important to build lasting relationships with family, friends, co-workers and businesses.

Trust, honor, sharing life lessons, things in common is all components for building lasting relationships.

With times being hard for everyone because of divorce, single parents, job loss, economy and so many other things we need to come together.

Coming together to help each other during fun times and hard times.

Things to try:

  • If you share birthday or having a party in the same month, share the expenses by having joined party.
  • You can also sharing the clean up by sharing the cleaning supplies and carpet cleaning machine.
  • Carpool or take public transportation
  • Babysit for them and they will babysit for you.
  • If you have gift cards that you’re not using, trade them, sale them or give them away.
Just a few things to try…when it comes to businesses and co-workers always give a two-weeks notice when you are leaving.  Never leave the company high and dry.
We all have skills, for example.  If you sew and someone else does web design.  You can offer your sewing skills or their web design skills.
While we are helping each other make life better, were building lasting relationships.
Did you get something out of this post?  Please share your thoughts and ideas.  Please come again, next week we will be talking about LOVE

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day

This is for all mothers,  even if they have passed on.  Everybody can remember something very special about their mother.

My mother is still here with us.    I am so thankful and blessed to have a mother that loves me unconditional.  My mother would give her last to make sure we have.  We did not have a lot of money but we were rich with our mother’s love.  My mama would make us potato chips, fried apple pies, hot chocolate from scratch.  I don’t know where I would be without my mama.  I am so blessed to be able  to talk to my mama daily.  And I try to see her whenever I can since we don’t live in the same state.

A friend of mine, is going through one of the hard times of  his life.  His mother passed away on Monday.  My friend realizes no more pain, suffering but that doesn’t make it easy for him to deal with her passing.  My friend and I talked on the phone for hours.  The one thing that he said to me,”Please go see your mama”.  My mama live out-of-town, and I am planning to go see my mama.  Talking over the phone is just not enough.

If your mama is no longer here, please remember the good times.  But spend quality time with your love ones.

Please take time for your mama.  Call and see her as much as possible.  No one knows the day or hour when we are no longer here.

Have you heard that saying,”Give me my flower while I live”.

A mother is the person that gave birth to you.  A mother is also the person that took care of you.  Just remember to appreciate one another:

1.  By giving

2.  Sharing a kind word.

3.  Do something nice or unexpected.

4.  Make a card to give.

5.  Visit

6.  Hugs and Kisses

7.  Take your mother on a walk.

8.  Talk about old memories

9.  Make plans for a trip together.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mama

We love you, appreciate you very much.

Men, women and children with special needs received a day of Beauty. Haircuts, hairdos, nails, makeup, massages and facial hair removal. All the food and drinks were provided. Outdoor party with DJ, music and dancing. All the service providers donated their time. It was so nice, I even donated my time and services. I will provided photographs and video that I took.

Thanks for reading and please return to view the photographs and video later this week.
